Vandever's Clubs & Activities
As part of its mantra of “100 percent Literacy, Engagement, Graduation,” Broken Arrow Public Schools continually focuses on providing students with educational opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. Research shows that school connectedness is one of the most influential factors for success in our students, and it is important for us to create an environment in which every student has a niche.
Membership in the following clubs or activities are voluntary and do not affect classroom grades. Please see "Requirements to Participate" below.
Safety Patrol: Grades 4-5
Sponsor: Mr. Baugess
The safety patrol program is offered to fourth and fifth grade students. The purpose of safety patrol is to help ensure the safety of our students. Safety patrol members will help students get safely to and from their cars, through the crosswalks, and to the daycare buses. We will be looking for students that can and will set a good example for the whole school by being courteous, respectful, dependable, and who maintain academic excellence.
*Students will have a daily assignment in the morning or afternoon.
Vandever Select Choir: 5th Grade
Vandevers Select Choir is for students who love to sing! Choir is open to fifth grade students only. Students will have opportunities to perform concerts and go on field trips throughout the year. To be in choir, students must have a permission slip signed by a parent/guardian, display good behavior, and must keep a C average or above in all of their classes.
TIGER Club: Grades 3-5

Vandever’s TIGER Club follows the districts Tiger Challenge initiative to promote Tenacity, Integrity, Gratitude, Expectations and Respect into our daily lives. We need YOU to help Make a Difference!
Kids for Christ: Grades Kindergarten-5
Kids for Christ is a club that allows students to come together to pray and worship.
Requirements for Participation
Maintain a minimum of a 70% grade average in all subjects. Member's grades will be checked at progress report times. If any grade falls below 70%, club member will be placed on academic watch. Grade average must meet 70% requirement by end of the trimester or club member will be dismissed from club for the remainder of the school year.
Habitual behavior issues or frequent office referrals will result in dismissal. Review of club members' conduct will be assessed each trimester. Determination of membership reinstatement will be addressed on an individual basis.
Attendance is vitally important. Successful performances depend on the club member's dedication. If a club member has three (3) unexcused absences, s/he will be dismissed from the club for the remainder of the school year. Excused absences include illnesses, doctor appointment, and family emergency. Three (3) tardies will equal one unexcused absence. All absences/tardies will require notification from parent.
Note to Parents
- Club members may be dropped off no earlier than 8 a.m. for a morning club meeting.
- Siblings may not be dropped off with club members.
- A permission slip/contract must be signed by both a parent and the student in order for a student to participate in any of the clubs.
Students will not be able to sign up for clubs until after school starts.
