2.Attention Singers, Dancers, Actors, and Musicians- Talent show auditions will next Wednesday, April 24th after school in the drama room. If you are singing, please bring full printed lyrics for approval as well as sheet music or recorded accompaniment. You must be able to attend after school rehearsal on Thursday, May 2nd in order to be in the show. Please see Ms. Hogan for more details!
3.Next year Latin will be offered as a foreign language option at the Freshman Academy. As an 8th grade student, if you are interested in taking Latin your freshman year, please see your Counselor to sign up.
4.Broken Arrow High School Varsity Girls’ basketball staff is hosting a free basketball clinic for Broken Arrow Public School girls in the 5th & 6th grades, today, April 18th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The clinics will be held at the Broken Arrow High School Fieldhouse. Students will need a waiver filled out and signed by parents to participate in the clinic. Come dressed to participate. If you are interested, please pick up a form in the front offices.
5.7th graders wishing to participate in football next year will have mandatory workouts at Oliver Middle School Monday May 13 through May 17. Students will need to have a ride home by 5:30, and must also have a current 2018-2019 physical in order to participate. Athletic shorts, t-shirt, cleats and padded girdle is needed. Students that do not have a physical and or wanting to can get one that will be good for the 2019-2020 school year can do so at the BAHS Fieldhouse from 5:30-8:00, May 2nd. Cost for physical is $25.
6.OMS Tigettes Shuttle is Route #158- pick up at 3:20 and drop at BAFA. Then at BAFA RTE #301 will pick them up.
7.Attention all girls, if you love to compete and want to be a part of an exciting NEW athletic team, sign up today in the Counseling Office for 6th Hour Girl’s Wrestling. This is an all-girl team that will compete against other girl’s teams around the state and region. Women’s wrestling is one of the fastest growing high school “girls” sports in America with over 13,400 participants and state championships offered in 7 states. There are 31 intercollegiate women’s teams (in all collegiate divisions) and more are being added every year! You don’t have to have any background in wrestling, only a desire to participate in one of the greatest sports in the world. Stop by the Counseling Office to sign up and be part of making history!
8.This Saturday April 20th, will be the 14th Annual “RUN TO THE SON” spelled “S.O. N.” at Parkview Baptist Church in Tulsa. All ages are welcomed to participate. You may run, walk or ride your bike. They will also have a free parking lot party with bungee trampoline, climbing wall, and much more. See Nurse Waits for more information.
9.NJHS meeting for 7th & 8th grade members will be Monday, April 22nd on the north side of the Cafeteria. Please plan on attending either before school at 8 a.m. or after school at 3:20 p.m. The meeting will last no longer than 20 minutes.
