Thursday's Announcements

1.February is Healthy Heart Awareness Month- The heart has four chambers and sends blood throughout your whole body. The Red Arteries bring oxygenated blood away from the heart towards the body. The blue veins bring deoxygenated blood towards the heart to get more oxygen.

2.We will be celebrating our “No Zero Heroes” today during 5th hour, after attendance, in the Gym! Teachers please see the email for the grade-pertinent lists. Students, there will be concessions for purchase.

3.A GREAT BIG SHOUT OUT goes to members of the Oliver Academic Team who hosted Holland Hall here at Oliver on Wednesday afternoon. After falling behind in the first quarter, Oliver came back to challenge Holland Hall throughout the rest of the meet, outscoring the Dutchmen in two of four quarters and tying the Tulsa team in the two 60-second rounds. In the end, Oliver fell short by a score of 255 to 235 but pressed Holland Hall to the very end. It was a total team effort for the Oliver team, but special recognition goes to Kaylee Moser and her teammates who sailed through the Elementary Spanish category in the final 60-second round earning 40 of 50 points. Great job Oliver Academic team!! A special word of appreciation to both Mrs. Coakley and Mrs. Brown for serving as moderator and timekeeper for the meet. Next week Oliver travels to Childers.
