Lynn Wood's Clubs & Activities
Broken Arrow Public Schools continually focuses on providing students with educational opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. Research shows that school connectedness is one of the most influential factors for success in our students, and it is important for us to create an environment in which every student has a niche.
Membership in the following clubs or activities are voluntary and do not affect classroom grades.

Art Club
Sponsor: Joanne Winnie
Art Club is open to 5th grade students.
Students must be signed up for club before starting class, due to limited number of spots.
Art Club meets every Wednesday from 3:40 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the Lynn Wood's Art Room.
Botball
Sponsors: Nate Fincher and Katie Taylor
Botball is a team that focuses on problem solving and overcoming challenges through coding. Team members work together to perfect lines of code to have a robot complete specific tasks autonomously. This team is open to 4th and 5th graders. Throughout the year the Botball team attends two challenge events in which they showcase their abilities.
Jump Rope Club
Sponsor: Connie Burns
The Jump Rope Club meets every Friday morning from 8 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. in the gym. They work on basic jump rope skills and partner skills. They also learn single long rope and double dutch skills. This club also participates in the community's annual Rooster Day Parade each spring.
Lynn Wood Singers
Sponsor: Caleb Cline
The Lynn Wood Singers consists of 5th grade students that rehearse before school in vocal music instruction. The Lynn Wood Singers perform at various events throughout the school year, including the all city Choral Festival.
National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS)
National Elementary Honor Society is an organization that recognies outstanding academic achievement, personal responsiblity, meaningful service to one's school and community while developing essential leadership skills. NEHS is for 4th and 5th grade students who have earned four "A's" and no more than one "B" on their report card. In addition, membership is also based on good attendance, behavior and documented service hours. Service hours are earned by students volunteering their time at school or through various community projects.
Safety Patrol

In the 1920s, AAA clubs helped organize a program whereby older students assist younger ones with crossing streets on their way to and from school. The safety patrol concept spread quickly to communities and schools nationwide.
School Safety Patrol at Lynn Wood is a select group of 5th Grade students who volunteer to guide and protect their classmates against traffic hazards. Hundreds of students have served as safety patrol members at Lynn Wood.
The symbols of the School Safety Patrol at Lynn Wood are the fluorescent lime belt and shoulder strap, worn by patrol members. A metal badge bearing the AAA emblem is attached. The belt is easily seen and conveys the need for caution to motorists and pedestrians.
