Advanced Math Pathway

Middle school Advanced Math courses launch students into a rigorous math academic track that extends through their high school career. At the middle school level, students earn high school credit (as a non-math core or additional elective) for successful completion of Algebra I.

This course:

  • WILL factor into the student’s overall high school GPA.
  • does not meet state level graduation requirements of 3 math courses between 9th-12th grades.

Student enrollment for Advanced Math courses will be determined by the following rubric, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the criteria listed. Ultimately, the rubric criteria for course enrollment is designed to best meet the needs of your student.

Each math course enrollment begins with consideration of the student's level of success in their current math course. The following assessments and criteria will be used each year to determine course enrollment.

Students are required to complete 3 years of math in Grades 9-12, in addition to course completion in 8th grade. It is highly recommended that students complete a senior year math course to support future career and college success.
