BAHS graduation date changed to May 14
Launch the media gallery 1 playerAfter announcing the date of the 2024 BAHS graduation ceremonies in early December, it was discovered that the date and time conflicted with the graduation ceremony of the approximately 50 students who are also graduating from the district’s Early College High School (ECHS) program through Tulsa Community College. Given that conflict, district leaders at Broken Arrow have decided to move the BAHS graduation ceremony to Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
“These ECHS students have worked incredibly hard to achieve this academic milestone, and the last thing we want is for them and their families to be put in a position to choose which graduation ceremony to attend,” said Superintendent Chuck Perry. “It’s not every day that you graduate from high school, let along graduate from high school with an associate’s degree, and that’s what this group of students have accomplished.”
In the past, TCC’s graduation ceremonies have been held on a Friday or Saturday, but scheduling conflicts limited their options in selecting a date.
“We’ve made the decision to hold graduation at our own facilities this year, which gives us the flexibility to move the date to one that’s better for our students and their families,” Perry said. “The celebration of academic achievement is the most important thing we can honor for our students, parents and all the staff who have worked so hard to prepare these graduates for future success.”
The Class of 2024 will graduate at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Memorial Stadium located on Broken Arrow High School's campus. The makeup is May 15 if rain is expected in the forecast. Project Graduation will take place Tuesday, May 14 regardless of weather.
More information will be available in the coming months, including number of tickets that will be available to each student. There is no charge to attend the graduation ceremony, but there is a maximum seating capacity.
