Tuesday's Announcements

1.Did you know the “Red Ribbon Campaign” was started when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered DEA agent Kiki Camarena in 1985? This began the continuing tradition of displaying Red Ribbons as a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs.  The mission is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a DRUG - FREE AMERICA.  The theme for Monday the 23rd will be “Your future is bright, don’t do drugs” – wear your neon clothes.  Students you must stay in dress code next week, hats are acceptable and no full-face painting.

2.The deadline to apply for Tulsa Tech’s 9th grade pre-engineering class at the Freshman Academy is October 27. Contact your counselor if you are having trouble applying.

3.Student Council will be selling “Halloween Grams” all next week!!!  The cost of the Halloween Grams will be 50 cents each. These will be delivered to friends in their 6th hour class on Halloween. This will include the “gram” and a sucker. There will be a table in front of Mrs. Gaunt’s room daily.

4.PTA Box Tops Contest! Please place them in a small plastic baggie with your name on it! The container is located in Mrs. Rencher’s Office. One student in each grade will be declared a winner of our contest... and will receive a special prize!!! The contest submission deadline is today, October 17th.

5.Every Friday morning Teenz 4 Christ and FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) meets before school in the choir room.  It’s free, it’s fun, and everybody at Oliver is invited, and you can always bring a friend.  Ask Mr. Haack or Mrs. Bruce if you have any questions. 

6.October 18th-20th -FALL BREAK (NO SCHOOL)
