Highland Park Elementary School Administration
Karen Morrison, Principal
Karen Morrison grew up in the Tulsa area and graduated from East Central High School. She then moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to attend the University of Central Oklahoma. Immediately after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, she taught in Oklahoma City Public Schools for eight years. Next, she was promoted to the position of an Instructional Facilitator. She worked as an Instructional Facilitator for three years. It was during this time that she achieved an Administrative Master’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. In 2009, she obtained a position as an Assistant Principal in Edmond Public Schools at Washington Irving Elementary and remained there until this summer.
In June, 2013, Mrs. Morrison and her family relocated to Broken Arrow to be closer to their immediate family. They are so excited to be a part of Broken Arrow Public Schools. Mrs. Morrison feels privileged to spend her day with the staff, parents, and students at Highland Park!
Mrs. Morrison has been happily married for eighteen years to her husband, Dave. They have two children, Bella and Brody. Bella is a competitive swimmer and loves all of the Fine Arts. Brody participates in basketball and wrestling, and he loves animals. Bella and Brody both attend Broken Arrow schools.
Carol Kackley, Assistant Principal
Carol Kackley received her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and her early childhood certification from the University of Central Oklahoma. More recently, she completed a graduate program for administration and curriculum instruction from the University of Oklahoma. During her 19 years of teaching, she has taught in elementary education, including kindergarten, first grade, second grade and third grade.
She is looking forward to helping cultivate 21st Century learners at Highland Park Elementary.
