Sharon Petrik our Media Specialist has been teaching at Arrowhead since 2007. She is a kind, loving teacher who encourages students to love reading! Mrs. Petrik has a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Tulsa and a Master of Science in Library Media and Information Technology from Northeastern State University. She has additional training in Literacy First, Great Expectations and the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute.

Arrowhead's Library/Media Center is truly a hub of Arrowhead learning. Students may check out library books daily. Classes are held for students to learn library media and research skills. Students learn to enjoy reading and listening to books being read to them.

A superior library reading program is encouraged including the Accelerated Reading (AR) program where students read AR books on their reading level and take tests that show comprehension. Third through fifth grade students are encouraged to read at least three Sequoyah Award books for the year in order to be able to vote with other Oklahoma students on the title to win the yearly award.

Parents are encouraged to volunteer to help in the Media Center!
