Cross Country Information

Have you ever heard of Cross Country? Have you ever had someone time you while you were running a mile? Cross Country is a fun, challenging, team running sport that requires strength, speed, endurance, and team strategy. If you feel that you would like to compete next season as a 7th, 8th, or 9th grader, please sign up in the office today. There will also be an informational parent meeting at 6:30 pm on May 16 at Oneta Ridge Middle School to learn more about the program. Practices will begin this summer, and meets will be held in the fall.

Library News

If you are a current 6th or 7th grader and would like to check out books from the Media Center this summer, stop by the library to pick up a permission slip.  You must have the signed permission slip returned by Wednesday, May 15, and you cannot have any lost books or fines in order to check out books for the summer.  Happy Reading!

Proficiency Based Promotion Testing

Applications for Proficiency Based Promotion testing are now available in the Counseling Office. Applications are due today, and no late applications be accepted. The PBTs will be given on June 4, 5, and 6 at the Education Service Center (81st & Main Street). Proficiency Based Promotion (PBP) is a process which awards credit for students’ knowledge in the core curriculum areas, including reading, language arts, math, science, social studies and foreign languages, through an assessment process. It is available to students in grades 1-12. More information can be found at www.baschools.org.
