Student ID Requirement for Grades 9-12

Broken Arrow Public Schools is committed to the safety and wellbeing of its students and staff. In an effort to proactively improve school security, students in grades 9-12 will be required to wear a visible school-issued ID while in attendance at school and school-related functions as designated by the administration. This may include field trips, dances and other school-sponsored activities. The ID is to be used only by the student to whom it is issued.

  • Student IDs will be provided to students during schedule pickup or within the first few days of school. (Note: If your school does not have a photo on file for your child from last year, one will be taken during schedule pickup.)

  • In order for sophomores, juniors and seniors to leave campus for lunch, their ID cards must be clearly visible to school personnel.

  • Student IDs may be required to check out materials from the media center, to acquire internet access, to purchase lunch or to leave campus.

  • Student IDs are the property of the school, like textbooks, and should not be altered in any way. They are not to be covered with pins, stickers, pictures or other objects. Partial, damaged or defaced student IDs are not acceptable. IDs may be collected on the last day of school.

  • Students are required to show and/or forfeit their ID to any district staff member who requests it. The failure to do so on the part of the student may result in suspension from school.

  • Students who fail to wear their ID will be required to obtain a temporary ID or replacement ID before being allowed to attend classes. Students who are repeat offenders may be assigned disciplinary consequences and required to purchase a replacement ID.

  • Lost or damaged ID cards must be replaced at a cost to the student of $5. Additional replacements beyond the first replacement will be at a cost of $10 to the student.
