
Advanced Math Pathway
Middle school Advanced Math courses launch students into a rigorous math academic track that extends through their high school career. Beginning with the graduating class of 2030, students are required to complete 4 years of high school credit math. In eighth grade, students can earn high school math credit for successful completion of Pre-AP Algebra I.
The 8th grade Pre-AP Algebra I course:
will factor into the student's overall high school GPA.
meets state level graduation requirements of 4 high school credit math courses, if taken in grades between 8th-12th grades.
will not be removed from the official transcript.
Student enrollment for Advanced Math courses will be determined by the following criteria. Ultimately, the criteria for course enrollment is designed to best meet the needs of the student.
Each math course enrollment begins with consideration of the student's level of success in their current math course. The following assessments and criteria will be used each year to determine course enrollment.

Required
6th Grade: Math 1 Honors
7th Grade: Math 2 Honors
8th Grade: Pre-AP Algebra 1
9th Grade: Pre-AP Geometry
10th Grade: Pre-AP Algebra II
11th Grade: Pre-AP Pre-Calculus
*Math 1 Honors addresses all 6th grade learning objectives incorporating aligned 7th grade learning objectives where appropriate.
*Math 2 Honors addresses all Pre-Algebra learning objectives incorporating aligned 7th grade learning objectives where appropriate.

12th Grade: AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC or AP Statistics
