The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) exam will be given to Broken Arrow High School students in grades 10–12 on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the high school media center.
Students must pick up a permission slip from the College and Career Center and return it to Mrs. Miler by Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The ASVAB is a career exploration tool that helps students identify jobs matching their skills and interests, as well as the education or training needed to pursue them. While it is often associated with military careers, it also provides valuable insights for civilian career planning.
Unlike academic tests such as calculus or AP exams, the ASVAB has no passing or failing score. Instead, it measures abilities in mathematics, language, and science/technical areas to help forecast potential achievement.
Although studying is not required, many students find it helpful to review ASVAB practice tests and sample questions to understand the format and types of questions.
When results are returned, students receive percentile scores, standard scores, and score bands—there’s no single “good score.” Learn more about how ASVAB scoring works in this ASVAB scoring guide.
