On Wednesday, Oct. 8, eighth graders at Broken Arrow Virtual Academy will take the Pre-ACT 8/9 assessment. And on Thursday, Oct. 9, ninth graders at Broken Arrow Virtual Academy will take the Pre-ACT assessment. This important test sets a foundational baseline for students as they transition into high school, helping them begin their journey toward college and career readiness.
This year, the Pre-ACT will be conducted online and will include multiple-choice questions across four subjects: English, reading, math, and science. The Pre-ACT evaluates the same skills and knowledge areas as the ACT, which students in Oklahoma take in the 11th grade, but it is tailored to be more relevant to eighth graders.
Taking the Pre-ACT in eighth and ninth grades gives Broken Arrow students the opportunity to address areas that need improvement well before they take the ACT. Additionally, students will receive personalized career insights based on their responses to the ACT Interest Inventory. This assessment will also assist teachers, students, and parents in making informed decisions about high school course selections.
A few weeks after the test, students will receive their score reports, along with their test booklets and individual responses, allowing them to compare their answers with the correct ones. The score report will highlight specific areas where students can focus on improving.
On test day, students should bring their Chromebook fully charged in preparation for the test.
Additionally, students are encouraged to take advantage of the Free Online Test Prep activities and tips offered by ACT to help them prepare.
