Broken Arrow Public Schools is pleased to submit a Letter of Intent to apply for funding through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program for the 2025-2026 school year. The application will focus on developing a comprehensive before, after and summer program at Sequoyah Middle School.
Sequoyah Middle School is a vibrant and diverse learning community committed to preparing students for academic success and lifelong learning. However, a significant number of our students face barriers related to academic performance, socio-economic challenges, and limited access to safe, structured enrichment opportunities out of school. Through this grant, we aim to address these needs by implementing a high-quality, research-based before school, after school and/or summer program that supports both academic achievement and youth development.
Our proposed program will provide students with including but not limited to:
Targeted tutoring and homework help aligned with core academic standards
STEM and arts-based enrichment activities
Life skill supports
Career exploration and leadership development opportunities
Meaningful family engagement events and resources
The program will operate in partnership with local community organizations and service providers, ensuring a well-rounded, culturally responsive and engaging experience for all participants. By focusing on equity, access and measurable outcomes, this initiative will directly contribute to student success both inside and outside the classroom.
