Cheering and high fives are on the agenda for Wednesday, May 14, as Broken Arrow students, staff and community members gather to celebrate the Special Olympics team as they travel to the annual Summer Games. This sendoff will take place at 6:45 a.m. outside of the Broken Arrow High School fieldhouse.

Every year, the Summer Games are hosted by Special Olympics Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. These games feature Olympic-style opening ceremonies, competitions and a number of fun activities. Athletes come from 14 geographical areas of Oklahoma where they have completed competitions in their local cities.

BAPS is taking over 120 athletes and peers from across the district to compete in powerlifting, bocce ball, cornhole, track and 3v3 basketball.
