On Thursday, Oct. 9, eighth graders at Centennial Middle School will take the Pre-ACT 8/9 assessment. This important test sets a foundational baseline for students as they transition into high school, helping them begin their journey toward college and career readiness.
This year, the Pre-ACT 8/9 will be conducted online and will include multiple-choice questions across four subjects: English, reading, math, and science. The Pre-ACT 8/9 evaluates the same skills and knowledge areas as the ACT, which students in Oklahoma take in the 11th grade, but it is tailored to be more relevant to eighth graders.
Taking the Pre-ACT 8/9 in eighth grade gives Broken Arrow students the opportunity to address areas that need improvement well before they take the ACT. Additionally, students will receive personalized career insights based on their responses to the ACT Interest Inventory. This assessment will also assist teachers, students, and parents in making informed decisions about high school course selections.
A few weeks after the test, students will receive their score reports, along with their test booklets and individual responses, allowing them to compare their answers with the correct ones. The score report will highlight specific areas where students can focus on improving.
On test day, students should bring their Chromebook fully charged in preparation for the test.
Additionally, students are encouraged to take advantage of the Free Online Test Prep activities and tips offered by ACT to help them prepare.
