Regular attendance plays an important role in your child’s success, and we want to make families aware of a recent change to the district’s attendance policy.
Beginning this school year, parents and guardians have two school days to contact their child’s school and report the reason for an absence. Previously, families had five school days to report an absence. If the school is not notified within two school days, the absence will be recorded as truant.
As a reminder, students must also be in attendance for at least two of the first three hours of the school day to be counted present for the first half of the day, and at least two of the final three hours to be counted present for the second half.
We appreciate your help in keeping your child’s school informed when an absence occurs.
For more information, please review the district’s attendance policy 4030. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s school site.
