At its July 13 meeting, the Broken Arrow Board of Education approved a minimal increase to student lunch prices for the 2026-2027 school year. Breakfast prices will remain unchanged at all grade levels. This is the first increase in meal prices since the 2022-2023 school year.
Even with this adjustment, Broken Arrow Public Schools remains competitive with districts across Oklahoma. The district's current elementary lunch price is below the statewide average for paid student lunches. The approved lunch prices for the 2026-2027 school year are:
Pre-K Lunch: $3.15
Elementary Lunch: $3.15
Middle School Lunch: $3.35
High School Lunch: $3.40-$3.75
These adjustments will help offset rising costs associated with food, supplies, labor, equipment replacement and facility improvements. The Child Nutrition Program operates as a self-supporting service, meaning it must generate sufficient revenue to cover the costs of food, staffing, equipment, maintenance and daily operations. As food, labor and operational expenses continue to increase, periodic meal price adjustments are necessary to ensure the program remains financially healthy while continuing to provide students with high-quality, nutritious meals.
The district recognizes that any increase in costs affects family budgets and remains committed to balancing affordability with the responsibility of operating a sustainable Child Nutrition Program that serves students each day. Families who may qualify for free or reduced-price meals are encouraged to complete an application.
