Broken Arrow High School students in grades 11–12 have the opportunity to earn the Seal of Biliteracy, an official honor that recognizes proficiency in English and at least one other language. This distinction is noted on a student’s diploma and transcript and is recognized by colleges, employers, and the state of Oklahoma.

How to Qualify
Students must show proficiency in:
English (via ACT, SAT, AP, IB, or ACCESS scores)
Another language (via exams such as AAPPL, STAMP, AP Language & Culture, or AVANT)
Two recognition levels will be offered: Silver Seal (Intermediate-Mid proficiency) and Gold Seal (Advanced proficiency).
Timeline
Sept. 1 – Applications open
Nov. 14 – Application deadline
Dec.–Jan. – Language testing
Spring 2026 – Celebration and recognition at the Senior Awards Ceremony
Cost
