Broken Arrow High School students in grades 11–12 have the opportunity to earn the Seal of Biliteracy, an official honor that recognizes proficiency in English and at least one other language. This distinction is noted on a student’s diploma and transcript and is recognized by colleges, employers, and the state of Oklahoma.

  • Strengthens college and scholarship applications

  • Provides advantages in today’s global job market

  • Celebrates the diversity of Broken Arrow Public Schools, where more than 50 languages are spoken

How to Qualify

  • Another language (via exams such as AAPPL, STAMP, AP Language & Culture, or AVANT)

Two recognition levels will be offered: Silver Seal (Intermediate-Mid proficiency) and Gold Seal (Advanced proficiency).
