Middle School and High School Mathematics Course Pathway

Middle school advanced mathematics courses:

Enrollment in an advanced mathematics course begins with consideration of the student's level of success in meeting and/or exceeding Advanced Math guidelines. Enrollment criteria is located in the Math section of the middle school course guide and also available in the “Pre AP/AP Programs” section under the “Academics” tab of the district website. Additional information is also included within this Incoming 6th Grade Advanced Math Parent Letter

Note: At the middle school level, students earn high school credit (as a non-math core or additional elective) for successful completion of Algebra I.

However, this course:

  • does not factor into the student's overall high school GPA.

and

  • does not meet state level graduation requirements of 3 math courses between 9th-12th grades.
