Stars on Stage: Giving kids with special needs a chance to shine on BAPAC stage Feb. 10-12
Join Broken Arrow Public Schools for an amazing show experience with the district’s talented Stars on Stage. This program uses theatre as a bridge between children with special needs and their peers to put on a fully staged production. This year, the Stars on Stage are presenting Disney’s “The Lion King Kids,” on Feb. 10 and Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and on Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center.
“The Lion King Kids” tells the story of the epic adventures of a curious cub named Simba as he struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destiny as king. Along the way, the young lion encounters a cast of characters including spunky lioness Nala, charismatic meerkat Timon and loveable warthog Pumbaa. To claim his rightful place on the throne and save his beloved Pridelands, Simba must find his inner strength and confront his wicked Uncle Scar. The production features classic songs from the 1994 film such as “Hakuna Matata” and the Academy Award-winning “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”
