All school sites shift to distance learning due to staff shortages

Due to continued major staffing shortages, ALL school sites are transitioning to distance learning starting Friday, Jan. 14. All students grades Pre-K through 12 will return to school on Tuesday, Jan. 18, since Monday, Jan. 17, is a holiday.

As of today, BAPS had 441 employees absent due to illness and other various reasons, 97 subs were needed and only 42 were filled, which is a 43% fill rate. These absence numbers are creating extreme hardships on our school sites as we try to cover all classrooms.

All Level 2 and 3 special education students will report to class in person unless communicated otherwise. In-person tutoring is available at each site by contacting your school. All extracurricular activities, practices and athletics will continue as regularly scheduled.

Child Nutrition will continue to provide grab and go meals at the school sites (except for Park Lane ECC and Leisure Park) from noon to 1 p.m. Park Lane ECC and Leisure Park students can go to any other school site to receive a grab and go meal.

For additional information, please contact your site administrator.
