The Broken Arrow Public Schools transportation department has honored three drivers with BA’s Best Bus Driver awards.

Bus riders and families nominated their favorite drivers, and the winners were recently announced.

Congratulations to the following employees:

Amanda Hubbard - Ms. Hubbard drives route 129, which serves the Freshman Academy, Sequoyah and Country Lane. Her students love that she has contests throughout the year and allows them to pick from a prize box when they follow the bus rules. Amanda is also the activity scheduler for transportation and works with athletics/activities to make sure they can make it to their events.

Dan VanDenHandel - Mr. VanDenHandel is a proud Navy Veteran and drives route 104, which serves the Freshman Academy, Oliver Middle School and Wolf Creek. His students enjoy his jokes and the genuine care he shows them every day. He is also a favorite with his colleagues because he is always willing to help cover routes and activities.

Mark Williams - Mr. Williams is a proud Army Veteran and drives route 710, which serves the special needs students of Broken Arrow High School and Rhoades. He also provides shuttles to Goodwill and A New Leaf for high school students to receive job training. He works hard to form strong bonds with his students.
