Prospective Student Information
The Vanguard Academy accepts a new class of approximately 75 freshmen students each fall. The prospective student information and application process for 2022-23 school year is outlined below. Watch informational video.
Current 8th grade students will learn about Vanguard by attending a presentation from Vanguard staff on their middle school campus.
Vanguard staff will present to all 8th grade students at each middle school on the date indicated below:
- Monday, Jan. 24 - Sequoyah Middle School
- Wednesday, Jan. 26 - Oliver Middle School
- Thursday, Jan. 27 - Childers Middle School
- Monday, Jan. 31 - Centennial Middle School
- Wednesday, Feb. 2 - Oneta Ridge Middle School
Families can learn about the Vanguard Academy programming options by attending one the following family forums.
- Monday, Feb. 7
- Tuesday, Feb. 8
- Tuesday, Feb. 15
Family forums will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Vanguard Academy of Broken Arrow located at 3000 East Albany Street in Broken Arrow. Families unable to attend the in-person forums can view the Feb. 8 forum streaming at www.arrowvision.tv and will also be able to watch a recorded version on www.arrowvision.tv beginning Feb. 10.
The application and acceptance decision process includes the following:
- Applications open in mid-January and early February.
- Applications will close on March 4.
- Vanguard staff request recommendations from feeder school staff.
- Vanguard staff set interviews with students who possess competitive applications and teacher recommendations.
- Vanguard staff make acceptance decisions. Students will be notified of acceptance decisions no later than April 1.
