New mask policy for Oliver Middle School starting Nov. 3

Because of the ongoing nature of this issue, and our extremely limited supply of masks, beginning Nov. 03, Oliver Middle School will implement the following policy for students who come to school without a mask:

  • 1st Offense: Student will get a mask and a warning. It is recorded in our student tracker google sheet. Parents are contacted. Up until Nov. 03, we have given every student who forgot a mask without consequences. The masks we have given students are cloth and can be washed and re-used. We do not have disposable masks.

  • 2nd Offense: Parents are contacted and will have to bring a mask to their student before the student will be admitted to class.

  • 3rd Offense: Same as step #2 but will also be assigned after school detention.

  • Detention may also be assigned for students who repeatedly wear their masks improperly. The mouth and nose must be covered.

The staff at OMS will be the first to celebrate when masks are no longer required. However, in order for us to be able to stay open and healthy, we must do our part to protect students and staff members. We appreciate your support in this effort.
