BA, Owasso team up with Folds of Honor for Friday football

Broken Arrow Public Schools and Owasso Public Schools are once again teaming up to present the Folds of Honor Patriot Bowl driven by Jim Glover Auto Family at 7 p.m. on Friday at Broken Arrow Memorial Stadium. This second annual football game will celebrate the service and sacrifice of American heroes and raise money to provide scholarships for families of service members who have been killed or wounded.

The game is a sellout based on the reduced capacity of Memorial Stadium this season. There will be no tickets for sale at the gate, but fans are encouraged to tune into ArrowVision.tv for live coverage of the game. An audio only streams also is available at leanStream.

“Athletics is about so much more than the final score,” said Broken Arrow Executive Director of Athletics Steve Dunn. “We are passionate about teaching our student-athletes to be great champions, but also great citizens and future parents and spouses. This game is an incredible opportunity for our kids to learn about true heroism and putting service above self.”

The Folds of Honor Patriot Bowl driven by Jim Glover Auto Family will offer fans a number of special events to recognize that both the Broken Arrow and Owasso communities value and cherish the freedom our military defends. This is the second year for the Folds of Honor Patriot Bowl driven by Jim Glover Auto Family. Broken Arrow has hosted both games.

Both schools will wear home uniforms to symbolize their unity in supporting the mission of Folds of Honor. Service men and women will be recognized before the game during the playing of the five-branch military medley, and a Hometown Hero will be recognized on the field between the first and second quarters.

Broken Arrow and Owasso enter the game with 2-0 records. The Rams are Ranked No. 1 in Class 6A-1 by the Tulsa World, while the Tigers are ranked second. The two teams have combined to win the last three state championships in Oklahoma’s largest high school classification.
