Virtual Academy: Grades 6-8

Middle school students in grades 6-8 who are enrolled at Broken Arrow Public Schools can complete 100% of their classes online or can take advantage of a blended enrollment option through the Virtual Academy.

Full-Time Program: This full-time program is ideal for students who strive to earn credit advancement, are in need of credit recovery or for those students who want to attend the Virtual Academy as their full-time option. Students may still participate in activities and clubs at their school site.

Blended Program: This blended approach allows students to take two to three online virtual classes through the Virtual Academy and then take their remaining course requirements at their traditional home site, including special electives, band, choir, orchestra, athletics, etc.

Online middle school curriculum includes English, social studies, math, science, Spanish, art appreciation, study skills and health. These students may also be able to participate in unique electives such as band or orchestra. All courses keep students on track to graduate. Students can choose when and where they will log in, as virtual education is accessible all day, every day, wherever students have access to the internet.

Middle school students will utilize their school-issued Chromebooks to complete assignments. Online learners are required to meet weekly with their teacher to discuss progress, whether through a phone call or virtual setting. Additional help or tutoring is provided by district teachers for students who may struggle with course content.
