Students to take state tests this spring, practice materials now available

Broken Arrow Public Schools students will take the 2023 Oklahoma School Testing Program (OSTP) state assessments starting in April. Students in grades 3-8 and 11 are required to test in the state of Oklahoma. All assessments are aligned to the Oklahoma Academic Standards.

To help parents, students and teachers, the Oklahoma Office of Assessments has prepared the Parent, Student and Teacher Guides (PSTGs). These documents contain a list of test-taking tips, objectives covered in the test and practice questions. The practice questions you see in the PSTG represent the types of questions and interactions your students will see when they take the OSTP state assessments in English language arts, mathematics and science.

An online practice resource is also available for students in grades 3-5. The practice test allows students to become familiar with the format of the online platform and the tools available for use. Some options available after the initial login, such as Text-to-Speech, are only available on the operational test for students testing with specific accommodations. The practice test is not designed to predict how a student will score on state assessments.

More testing resources can also be found on the Oklahoma Office of Assessments website.

Please contact the school site's counseling office at 918-259-4390 for more information about the upcoming assessments.
