Pride of Broken Arrow marching band wins 18th consecutive state championship
The Pride of Broken Arrow marching band won its 18th straight state championship at the Class 6A Oklahoma Bandmasters Association marching contest Saturday night at Owasso High School.
The Pride of Broken Arrow’s show, “Yee Haw,” earned a score of 95.80 from the judges and swept all three caption awards for outstanding visual performance, outstanding music performance and general effect.
Broken Arrow has captured every OBA Class 6A state championship since 2002 and has won this competition 27 times since it began in 1980.
The Pride of Broken Arrow will present a community encore performance of “Yee Haw” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Broken Arrow Memorial Stadium. Gates open at 6 p.m., and admission is free with the donation of a canned or nonperishable food item to benefit Broken Arrow Neighbors.
