High school enrollment to take place Feb. 11 and Feb. 20

High school enrollment will take place from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11 and Thursday, Feb. 20 in lieu of traditional spring parent-teacher conferences.

In preparation for those two nights, students are currently in the process of choosing their courses for the coming school year during their advisory class. English, math, history and science teachers will make course recommendations for each of their students. These teacher recommendations will serve as the beginning point for students and parents to evaluate, discuss and make the final decision about course requests for next school year.

The 2020-21 high school course planning guide can be reviewed for a list of offered courses and the high school school elective courses is a list of courses that require applications. To help select appropriate courses, the students can download the following high school graduation checklist:

Current unofficial transcripts are now available in each student's Home Access Center (HAC) account. A review of the transcript will assist students and parents in seeing what courses students have successfully completed so that they can better plan what students still need to take in order to satisfy graduation requirements while exploring their own individual interests. Additionally, enrollment videos can be viewed on the district's Youtube channel to help students and parents become more familiar with the wide variety of high school academic courses.

Once students have made their course selections, parents who agree with their child’s choices and have no further questions may simply email advisory teachers and let them know that they agree with their child’s course selections and do not need a conference. Parents who have questions about course selections will have the option of signing up for a 20-minute conference with the advisory teacher during the Feb. 11 and 20 conference period.
