Broken Arrow Public Schools is helping furloughed federal employees during the government shutdown by offering substitute teaching positions with special incentives.

“In an effort to help those working for the federal government in their time of need, Broken Arrow Public Schools is waiving the $55 cost of the district’s substitute workshop and is paying these individuals at the highest daily rate of $70 for the duration of the government shutdown,” Chief Administrative Officer Lori Kerns said. “This is our way of giving back to our wonderful community while also growing our Broken Arrow family.”

Those who are interested should plan to attend one of two workshops on Jan. 24 or Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

For more information, please contact the district’s human resources department at 918-259-5704.
