Broken Arrow Public Schools students and parents can now use their mobile devices or internet browsers to find up-to-the-minute school bus arrival information by using the Versatrans My Stop app.

“We know how important accurate and timely school bus information is to our parents and students,” Transportation Director James McNabb said. “This new technology should significantly help our bus riders and their parents know when it’s time to head out to the bus stop and when they can be expected home after school.”

Broken Arrow is one of just two districts in Oklahoma to use this technology, which was paid for with bond funds specifically approved by local voters for transportation expenses.

“We are passionate about learning in Broken Arrow, and that extends far beyond the classroom,” Superintendent Dr. Janet Dunlop said. “We consistently seek new ways to lead and follow our students into the future in all aspects of education – including the ride to and from school.”

Users can download the My Stop app for their mobile device by searching for “Versatrans My Stop” in the App Store or Google Play. From there, they can select Broken Arrow Public Schools and log in with their child’s information. Student ID numbers are used for the username and the initial password, which will then be changed for security purposes.

My Stop displays the location of the selected school bus on a map and includes the estimated time of arrival (ETA) to the student’s specific bus stop. The ETA is automatically updated from school bus GPS data and is recalculated to accommodate traffic delays along the route. When using the app, parents can enable push notifications to automatically alert them to bus delays or schedule changes.

“As a mother of two students, I know how morning routines are timed down to the minute based on when the bus is coming,” Dunlop said. “My Stop will help make sure kids are out to the bus stop in time, but also minimize the time they have to stand out in inclement weather if there is a delay.”
