Multiple Disabilities

Students with multiple disabilities are in need of programming addressing two concomitant areas such as; Intellectual Disabilities and Orthopedic Impairment. Adaptive/self-help and functional skills are stressed to develop independence. Related services are provided if needed. Most children receive one or a combination of the following therapies: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy.

These children follow an educational curriculum which is commensurate with the level of functioning. Assistive technology is provided to facilitate communication, computer access, cognitive development and adaptive skills.

Opportunities are made available for students to participate in an adaptive PE program for the MH students and volunteers also offer support within the classroom.
