Broken Arrow Public Schools provides comprehensive programming to address the unique needs of students with autism. Preschool programming is available through the special education category of Developmental Delay for those students who meet criteria and are found eligible for services. Programming focuses on the communication, social and adaptive behavior needs of preschool students with autism spectrum disorders in order to promote academic and functional skill progress.
Related services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy are also available to those students who demonstrate need for additional support for language development and sensory integration issues. Several of the programs have access to gross motor rooms to provide sensory-motor activities and experiences. All programming is based on individual student needs.
