Oliver's Clubs and Activities
Broken Arrow Public Schools continually focuses on providing students with educational opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. Research shows that school connectedness is one of the most influential factors for success in our students, and it is important for us to create an environment in which every student has a niche.
Membership in the following clubs or activities are voluntary and do not affect classroom grades.

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
Sponsor: Katy Lewis
National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is for 7th grade students who have achieved a 3.5 or above grade point average (GPA) during the 2nd semester of their 6th grade year and the 1st semester of their 7th grade year. It is also for 8th grade students who have achieved a 3.5 or above GPA during the last semester of their 7th grade year and the 1st semester of their 8th grade year.
Membership is also based on citizenship, leadership, scholarship, and service. A faculty council determines those students who will be invited to become members. Seventh grade students are inducted into NJHS in the spring of their 7th grade year.
Student Council (STUCO)
Sponsor: Sarah Vance & Chelsea Inskeep
Provides a voice for the students, activities for the student body, community service, leadership, and the democratic decision making process. Any student may attend meetings. However, room representatives are selected in each class at the beginning of the year to represent his/her class.
An election for Officers occurs at the end of the school year for the next school year. The current 6th and 7th graders who are room representatives are eligible to participate in this event.
Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
Sponsor: Dorlyn Waits
Students Against Destructive Decisions is a club that meets weekly before school and is available to all grades. SADD discusses a variety of destructive decisions and what positive and responsible outcomes to achieve. Club membership is free and encourages students to lead a drug-free life. SADD plans and coordinates Red Ribbon Week.

Technology Student Association (TSA)

TSA is an extracurricular organization for 8th graders who have had at least one semester of Technology Engineering. It encourages advancement in the area of technology, science, and math.
There are no regular scheduled meetings. An announcement will be made or students are contacted through their 7th hour teacher when TSA needs to have a meeting.
There are two annual events for TSA. The "Fall Leadership Conference" that the officers attend, usually in October at NSU/Tahlequah and the "State Conference", April, in Oklahoma City.
Yearbook Staff
Sponsor: Tori Rivera
The yearbook staff is responsible for all aspects of creating the yearbook: sales, photography, design, etc. Students apply near the beginning of the school year.
