Brenda French loves working with kids. She graduated from Broken Arrow a long time ago and earned her Bachelors in Education at NSU Tahlequah. She started her teaching career in special education, then she changed hats and taught third grade for five years. She finally got her master€™s in Counseling in '93, and has been a counselor ever since.

Ms. French began her counseling career in Wagoner and came to Broken Arrow schools as a counselor in 2003.

There are several programs Ms. French is involved with here at Lynn Wood such as the food for kids program, holiday aide, school supplies closet. One of her more important duties is the teacher assistant team, to help teachers with ideas and interventions to help struggling students be more successful. Another of her important titles is the building test coordinator which includes coordinating, scheduling, administering state and district tests. The part of being a counselor she likes the most is talking with the kids individually, in a group, or doing a lesson in the classroom.

"€œLife is not about waiting for the storm to blow over, it is about learning to dance in the rain." Ms. French loves this quote.
