Broken Arrow Public Schools (BAPS) has a high retention rate for Advanced Placement (AP) teachers and classes. The success stems from Board of Education (BOE) and community support.
BAPS AP teachers participate and consult in the Southwest Regional subject conferences during the academic year. They attend summer institutes to learn improved techniques and new procedures.
Since the summer of 1988, the BOE has funded training for AP teachers on a rotating cycle. These teachers have enriched their students by participating in concentrated course work with colleagues at colleges and universities.
