What are the school hours?
Students may go to class at 8:40 am. The official starting time is 8:55 am and ending time is at 3:40pm. Students may arrive at 8:30am for breakfast. No students should arrive before 8:30am as there is no supervision available. Please be prompt when picking up your students in the afternoon.
How do I report an absence?
Please call the school by 9:30 a.m. at 918-505.5930.
You may report an absence ahead of time as well.
What is the school's policy on tardiness?
School begins promptly at 8:55 a.m. If a child arrives after that time, he/she must go directly to the office for a tardy slip before going to class. It is important for students to arrive on time for school daily.
What if I need to check my child out of school early one day?
Report to the front office and office personnel will contact the classroom teacher for you. No student will be released directly from the classroom. Parents must sign their child in and out during regular school hours.
How do I notify my child of a change in transportation home?
If your child needs to go home a different way than normal, send a signed note to school with him/her to notify the teacher. If it's an unexpected change, you may call the school before 3:00 p.m. and the secretary will send your child's teacher a pink information note.
The Transportation Department prohibits students from riding on buses other than their regular one. Also, students must get off at their assigned bus stops. If you have questions regarding bus issues, please call the Transportation Department at 918-259-4550.
What if my child gets sick?
Parents of students with a temperature over 100º, diarrhea, and/or vomiting will be contacted and asked to pick up their child. Children need to be symptom-free without the aid of medication for 24 hours before returning to school.
How do I contact my child's teacher?
You may call the school office and leave a message on your child's teacher's voice mail. In addition, if you have completed an e-mail access form, you may e-mail the teacher.
What is the school policy on visitors?
For safety reasons, it is the District's policy that every visitor sign in at the front office and get a visitor's badge.
What are the school's disaster drill procedures?
Your child's safety is our primary concern. State law mandates periodic practice fire and tornado drills. We also have procedures in place for a lock down, if necessary. When there is a lock down situation, whether a drill or not, no one will be allowed into the building until the lock down is cancelled.
How much do meals served in the cafeteria cost?
The cost for student breakfast is 95 cents and adult breakfast is $1.25.
Student lunch cost is $1.90 and adult lunch cost is $2.65.
Are parents or other guests allowed to eat with their children?
Yes, parents or other special guests are welcome to eat lunch with their child. Please call ahead so we can notify the cafeteria of extra meals to be prepared. When arriving, check in at the main office to get a visitor's badge. An adult meal is $2.65. You may not use the money in your child's lunch account to pay for your meal. Fast food and soda are not allowed in the school cafeteria for adults or children.
What is the school's policy on field trips/permission slips?
A permission slip must be signed and returned or the student will NOT be permitted to go on the trip. No last minute phone calls to parents will be allowed.
Can I send balloon or flower bouquets to my child at school? Yes, however the student will not receive them until the end of the school day, and balloons or flowers are not permitted in the classrooms or on buses. It is best to have these delivered to your home.
