Country Lane Intermediate's Clubs & Activities

Broken Arrow Public Schools continually focuses on providing students with educational opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. Research shows that school connectedness is one of the most influential factors for success in our students, and it is important for us to create an environment in which every student has a niche.

Membership in the following clubs or activities are voluntary and do not affect classroom grades.

5th Grade Mentors
Sponsor:

This leadership team is comprised of 5th grade students who enjoy working one on one with younger students. This team is possible to due partnering with the K-building to allow our 5th graders to mentor during their recess period. They may be asked to spend some time reading with a student or possibly working on flash cards with the student – whatever the teacher thinks would be beneficial. They may also eat lunch with the student or go out on the playground with the student in order to role model social skills for that student. This may require some time out of the classroom, but will not involve instructional time. However, students may have more homework as a result of missing time that is given to work after the instructional time.

Morning Announcement Team

Students will have to be prompt and on time to school as the announcements are made sharply at 8:55 a.m. This may require some writing of a topic they would like to report on especially if we move to a video format; and may require some before/after school meetings. Students will serve on a rotational basis.

***Students interested in these leadership teams will have either a tryout process or submit interested through an application selection process. More information will be given at a later date.
