District to administer SAT at no cost to juniors April 9

Juniors at Broken Arrow High School are required to take the SAT exam at no cost during the school day on Tuesday, April 9. This day will be a virtual day for sophomores and seniors and they will not be coming to school that day.

The SAT exam will be an online test this year. Students will need to make sure to charge their Chromebook to full capacity the night before and will also need to bring his/her power cord. The test is five hours long and many Chromebooks will not last this long. Testing locations will be setup for students to plug in their Chromebook.

Students do not have to bring a calculator. They will be able to use the online calculator. However, if a student would like to use a hand-held calculator, then they need to bring an approved SAT calculator on test day. Only battery-operated, handheld equipment can be used for testing. No calculator power cords are allowed.

In addition, the College Board provides students with SAT practice tools through the Khan Academy, which includes personalized study plans, full-length practice tests, thousands of interactive practice questions, video lessons, test taking tips and more.

April 24 is a scheduled make-up day for students who missed taking the test on April 9.
