District makes it easier for parents, students to report bullying, drug usage and violent threats
‘Report It’ now available on mobile app and district website
Broken Arrow Public Schools recently launched a new campaign called “Report It” in an effort to simplify the process for parents and students to report bullying, drug usage and school threats. These reports can be completed on the district’s new mobile app for iOS and Android devices or through the district’s website at www.baschools.org/ReportIt.
"We strive to ensure a safe environment at Broken Arrow Public Schools,” Executive Director of Student Services Derek Blackburn said. “Prior to ‘Report It,’ we provided a way to report bullying, but realized we needed to expand it to include a multitude of actions that could affect the well-being of our students and staff. We truly appreciate when students or parents contact school officials to report it before heading to social media or other outlets."
These reports, which can be submitted anonymously, allow the school district the ability to investigate concerns and work with law enforcement. As with any report submitted to school officials, an investigation will be conducted to determine appropriate action. False reports with the intent to disrupt school can result in disciplinary actions.
