Students from the Mentoring Healthy Parents program give back
Students from Broken Arrow Public Schools Mentoring Healthy Parents program decided to show their support to families who are currently experiencing a premature birth at St. John hospital. These students provided 30 “caring bags” filled with fuzzy socks, flavored teas, mints, gum, a journal, hand sanitizers and more to families with babies in the NICU. A hand written “Thinking About You” card from the students were also given to each family.
This past year, a current MHP student experienced her baby in the NICU, and she shared how she felt going through this experience with her classmates. Because of this, the students felt they should let families know they are thinking of them and wanted to show their support by providing the “caring bags.”
