High School Configuration Steering Committee reconvenes to discuss possible STEM facility
With the first phase of the 2015 bond issue recently completed, the High School Configuration Steering Committee reconvened on Nov. 15 to discuss details about the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) facility scheduled for the second phase of the bond issue.
This facility would meet the needs of the district’s growing STEM programs with new classroom space and labs. This state-of-the-art building would serve high school students and is a $21,000,000 project.
At the beginning of the meeting, Broken Arrow Public Schools Chief Operations Officer Michelle Bergwall and Executive Director of Construction Bob Tolomeo presented an update on current school site capacities, available land and data regarding construction options.
Once the information was provided, the Steering Committee worked in groups to propose the best options for Broken Arrow students. These three options will be presented to the Board of Education for a vote during the high school configuration proposal early next year.
