MHP Students Celebrate October holiday with a Baby- O-Ween Social
The infants and toddlers of Mentoring Healthy Parents (MHP) students had an opportunity to enjoy some holiday fun by “trick-or-treating” indoors and participating in purposeful play. The students decorated the classroom and prepared developmentally appropriate activities for the social.
They had “Boowling”- a small set water bottles filled with cotton balls with happy faces and a textured orange ball to knock down the “pins”. Sensory Play activities that included- Googly eyed and other Halloween themed, textured, sensory bags and Edible “Eyeballs” (colorful jello w/raisin center for pupil). There was also a Non-Messy Pumpkin panting station were the babies and toddlers had fun “squishing” and finger “splatting” the paint in the bags to create some very colorful pumpkin art.
Storytime with Ms. Heather Lonzo from the Tulsa Public Library- Broken Arrow South location was a big hit as they listened to entertaining finger songs and a big book holiday story. Halloween themed snacks like “Mummy Dogs”, “ghost” cheese sticks, and “Jack-o-lantern” mandarin orange cups along with many other foods was enjoyed. Then off they went dressed in their cute costumes to each of the classrooms for “trick-or-treating” fun!
