Support Staff Pay Scales


District and classroom support employees are crucial to student success. Whether you are a bus driver or a teacher assistant, you continually make sure students are engaged at school. At Broken Arrow Public Schools, support positions may include clerical, custodial, child nutrition, finance, technology, transportation and more. Do you have a heart for kids? Join our team!  

How to Apply:

All support employees must apply online using our electronic application. You will need to create an account with a username and password when you first begin. Once your account has been created, you may return to update your application, add attachments or view your application. You may exit the program at any time and return to complete it at your convenience.

Compensation & Benefits:

The pay rate for new employees is set based upon the following factors:

  1. The new employee’s past working history and job experience that is reviewed and verified
  2. The pay index of the position, which is determined by the skill level required for the position or the position’s level of difficulty.

Hourly/support position pay checks are issued direct deposits on a semi-monthly basis.

Support staff receives the following leave pro-rated based on their hire date: Sick leave – one day per month for each month worked up to 10 days for 9/10 month employees; up to 12 days for 12 month employees. Personal leave – up to 3 paid days.

Support staff working four hours or more are eligible for insurance with OMES: Employees Group Insurance Division (EGID). All coverage offered by EGID is optional. A flex benefit allowance ($679.62 as of Jan. 1, 2024) is given when health coverage is taken with EGID for employees working six hours or more. The district will pay half of the selected health premium only for support employees working four hours to less than six hours. In addition to medical benefits, the district also provides full-time support staff group life insurance in the amount of $20,000. Optional and dependent life insurance is also available. Disability, cancer, critical care, accident and Texas Life insurance are offered by American Fidelity. Legal Shield is available to all employees as well.
