BAPS secondary students fundraise to help with History Day competitions

National History Day is an academic competition emphasizing the study of history through developing research, thinking and communication skills. This program provides teachers with resources to enhance their classroom lessons and provides students with hands-on activities while making the topics relevant.

Students participate during their 7 and 8 grade Pre-Advance Placement (Pre-AP) classes. They also have an opportunity to participate at Broken Arrow Freshman Academy and Broken Arrow High School through enrichment programs.

Our Broken Arrow Public Schools secondary students are fundraising for transportation to the Regional History Day Competition on March 3 at the Southeast Tulsa Communicty College campus and the State History Day Competition on May 3 and 4 at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City.

Help support our students by purchasing a 'History Day' or 'We are Tigers' t-shirt. Please return the order form to your child’s social studies teacher by Friday, Feb. 3.
