High School students can take Personal Financial Literacy class online

Broken Arrow high school students in grades 10-12 for the 2018-19 school year can now take their required Personal Financial Literacy course online through Tulsa Teachers Credit Union (TTCU) website with a program called FoolProof. This program is free to all students and this can be taken at any time before they graduate.

TTCU has partnered with The FoolProof Initiative, a nationally known group of consumer advocates. FoolProof offers Oklahoma teachers a complete financial literacy curriculum that meets all Oklahoma Financial Literacy Passport requirements. There are 18 modules and a score of at least 70% in each module must be obtained to meet the requirement to pass this online course.

Mrs. VanHoozer, counselor at the high school, is available to assist during the summer if a student needs helpHer email address is svanhoozer@baschools.org. To take this course online, please use the following directions:

Step 1:  Visit the FoolProof website.

Step 2:  Look for “First Time Here?" to create an account.

Step 3:  Enter one of the following class code:

Class of 2019:  CPUH65A
Class of 2020:  CH88739
Class of 2021:  C4MEE8N

Step 4:  R. Weeks will be listed as the teacher and Broken Arrow High School will be listed as the high school.

Step 5:  Create username and password. Please use your email address and a password you will remember. (Suggestion - use BA login and ID.)

Step 6:  When all the modules have been finished or if there is any questions, please contact high school counselor Tisha MacDonald at trmacdonald@baschools.org.

All the modules to this program will need to be finished by the student's graduation date. No grade will be given for this course. However, the student's high school transcript will indicate that they have completed this state required course.

Please note that if a student takes the Financial Algebra course they can earn the Personal Financial Literacy proficiency credit and they will not have to take this online course.
