Arrowhead's Classroom Guidance

All students receive classroom guidance lessons from the school counselor as part of the school curriculum. Throughout the school year, the counselor will visit with each classroom. Topics are chosen based on the developmental needs of the individual classes. The lessons are designed around the National Standards for School Counseling, which include academic, career and personal/social development. Examples of classroom guidance lessons are:

  • Understanding self and others
  • Character traits
  • Coping strategies
  • Study skills
  • Career awareness
  • Peer relationships and effective social skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Drug education
  • Safety
