| As a school volunteer you will be assisting the school staff on a regular basis, helping to provide the best possible educational experiences for each child. Your contribution is important! All of the schools in Broken Arrow operate under the policies set forth by the Broken Arrow Public Schools Board of Education. All of the schools are alike in many ways, but because each school has procedures designed to meet specific needs, each school has its own personality, too. Your contribution to the program may vary as well. Some volunteers tutor boys and girls. Others help teachers with bulletin boards and room set-up, or work in a clerical capacity or as a mentor, chaperone for field trips, kindergarten clinic, Project Graduation, or work with their PTA by being a room mother. Whatever capacity you decide, your talents, hobbies, experiences and personality will add a new dimension to the volunteer program. Comprehensive research of more than 85 recent studies document the profoud benefits for students when family members participate in their children's education. The findings listed to the right are from the research. |
